Why my shrimp (Vannamei) shows poor growth or stunned growth?
Posted by Kumaran J on
There are various factors that affect shrimp growth and lead to poor biomass conversion. Some of them are:
- Poor seed quality
- Improper acclimatization
- Non-optimal water quality
- Low feed quality
- High organic load
- Diseases occurrences, lack of essential minerals and etc.,
The growth of your shrimp mainly depends on the above factors. Farmers should check these parameters regularly. High FCR leads to increased feeding and high production cost.
Optimal water quality management, cleaning pond bottom, timely application of minerals supplements makes the environment friendlier for shrimp to grow. Farmers should use probiotics at regular intervals to make shrimp healthier.
